ALLMI recently contacted all members and training providers with a request for photographs of lorry loaders. Due to the images required for ALLMI’s numerous marketing channels, as well as its range of training material and guidance documentation, the Association needs to ensure it has a continually expanding and updated library of photographs to draw from.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has recently published ‘CAP 1096 Guidance to Crane Operators on Aviation Lighting and Notification’. Underpinned by the UK Air Navigation Order, CAP 1096 places duties on crane users to mitigate the risk of collisions with aircraft and was originally due to come into force on 1st October this year.
In the Summer of 2010, timed with the launch of the revised BS7121 Part 4, ALLMI delivered its first ever Appointed Person (AP) course, a training programme that has gone on to have a significant impact on practices throughout the lorry loader industry.
Following record levels of uptake in 2019 with over 20% growth in registrations, demand for ALLMI’s industry recognised Slinger / Signaller course has continued to be strong this year, in spite of the unprecedented challenges.
With a new online format available (Appointed Person and Thorough Examiner only), ALLMI has experienced a recent boost in demand for its Manager courses, as companies across the lorry loader industry look to bolster their compliance with the requirements of PUWER 9.2:
