Election Results

Alan Johnson’s appointment as Chairman was part of a wider election process for positions on both the ALLMI Board and Operators’ Forum Executive Committee.

For the Board, the election saw the majority of incumbent Directors retaining their positions, with the only new addition being Ian Roberts, Managing Director of Massey Truck Engineering.

Coronavirus Guidance - Expired ALLMI Cards

Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, many ALLMI training providers are unable to engage in course delivery at present, or are having to limit the number of courses they supply. This is, therefore, likely to result in an increased number of expired ALLMI cards circulating within the industry. Due to these unprecedented and exceptional circumstances, ALLMI’s stance is aligned with that of CSCS on this matter by requesting that those responsible for site access and card checking use their discretion towards workers whose cards have recently expired. This is on the condition they can provide evidence that the required refresher training / assessment cannot be undertaken as a result of training provider closures. This stance is also supported by Build UK.

ALLMI Partners with the Energy Networks Association

ALLMI has recently partnered with the Energy Networks Association (ENA) in order to help promote its ‘Look Out, Look Up!’ campaign. Seeking to raise awareness of the risks involved with working near overhead power lines and educating stakeholders in adopting safe practices, ‘Look Out, Look Up!’ is aimed primarily at lorry drivers, including operators of loader cranes, and so partnership with ALLMI was a logical step in communicating the message far and wide.
