New ALLMI Chairman Elected

Hiab Product Technical & Engineering Manager, Alastair Evans, has recently been elected as ALLMI’s new Chairman.  With over 35 years’ experience in the lorry loader industry, Evans is a long-standing member of ALLMI’s Technical Committee and Board, and also plays a role in representing the UK on European Standards Committee, TC 147/WG 18.

He comments “It is a privilege to serve as ALLMI Chairman.  On behalf of the ALLMI Board and in collaboration with the wider membership, we look forward to making further progress on important industry issues and ensuring that good practice remains at the forefront of the lorry loader sector.”

Evans’ appointment follows Alan Johnson stepping down from the Chairman’s position, further to retiring as Managing Director of Palfinger UK.  Johnson’s contribution to ALLMI spans more than 30 years, including two terms as Chairman and a seven-year spell as Technical Director, whilst also being a member of the ALLMI Board since its inception in 2005.  He will continue to work with ALLMI on a consultancy basis.
