CPD Supports Training Growth

It looks like it could be another record year for ALLMI’s operator course, with YTD training levels up by 8% compared to the same period in 2018.

ALLMI Technical Manager, Keith Silvester comments “ALLMI has long been regarded as delivering the industry’s leading training programme for lorry loader operators, and these latest figures further underline the scheme’s continuing popularity.”

Developed by the industry, for the industry, ALLMI’s operator course is the only one of its type to be approved by CSCS and fully compliant with the requirements of BS7121 Part 4, the British Standard for the Safe Use of Lorry Loaders.

Silvester continues “Companies and sites spanning all sectors of the lorry loader industry continue to actively look for operators holding the ALLMI card and there’s no denying that our industry presence and credibility is stronger than ever. However, as demand grows it’s essential that the highest standards are maintained throughout our Instructor network and we have numerous mechanisms in place to achieve that, including comprehensive instructor training, quality training aids and material, ongoing technical support, rigorous auditing and a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system.”

ALLMI Training & Project Officer, Jon Kenyon, adds, “We have recently released our latest CPD Bulletin for instructors, which is facilitated by a dedicated area of the ALLMI website. The Bulletin and associated assessment process are derived from analysing instructor audit reports over the last 12 months and looking at any common areas where further developments can be made. We have found this to be an excellent way to provide yet another layer of engagement with instructors, further ensuring they are always fully equipped to deliver training to the highest standard.”
