Hiab Product Technical & Engineering Manager, Alastair Evans, has recently been elected as ALLMI’s new Chairman. With over 35 years’ experience in the lorry loader industry, Evans is a long-standing member of ALLMI’s Technical Committee and Board, and also plays a role in representing the UK on European Standards Committee, TC 147/WG 18.
Alastair Evans’ appointment as Chairman was part of a wider election process for positions on both the ALLMI Board and Operators’ Forum Executive Committee.
ALLMI has recently agreed a mutual exchange of membership with the Road Haulage Association (RHA).
2024 sees a series of milestones reached by ALLMI and the lorry loader industry.
ALLMI has released its loader crane industry sales figures for the second half of 2023, completing market statistics for the full year. Whilst showing strong sales across a range of sectors, one of the most noticeable developments was the increase in demand for remotes, with 76% of invoiced sales relating to lorry loaders with control units of this type, compared to 61% in 2022.
