Course Documents
Every candidate attending the course will receive the ALLMI Examiner’s manual, which will act as a reference guide for the candidate throughout their career as an Examiner. All successful candidates will also be registered on the ALLMI Examiner’s database and will be issued with an identity card and certificate confirming their status as an ALLMI accredited Examiner,
Duration / No. of Candidates
The course duration is two days, with a maximum of four candidates to every course.
Course Price
The price of the course is just £262.50 per person (inclusive of the Examiner’s manual, certificate, identity card and registration).
Entry Requirements
Every course candidate must now have the following:
- Two years experience with lorry loaders or similar lifting equipment.
- An ALLMI Operator’s licence. The category stated on the ALLMI Operator’s licence (in relation to tonne-metre rating) will determine the size of crane that the candidate can examine, e.g. if a candidate holds a ‘C’ category ALLMI licence, which permits him/her to operate a crane with a rated capacity of up to 20 tonne-metres, then the candidate would not be certificated to examine a crane with a rated capacity greater than 20 tonne-metres. Please contact ALLMI for information on the straightforward process of upgrading an operator’s licence to a higher category.
- The candidate must have been employed by their current employer (the ALLMI member company) for at least six months.
ALLMI does not request that all course candidates hold a Slinger / Signaller qualification, but it is strongly recommended that employers consider this if the person in question is dealing with slings / chains when performing their duties. If you would like to know more about the ALLMI Slinger / Signaller course, then please contact the ALLMI office.
How to become an Instructor
In order to meet the long-term demand for this course, ALLMI will need more Instructors to deliver the training. We are looking to members to put people forward for this role. Suitable candidates will need to meet the criteria stated above for the Examiners and in addition, will need to hold a Slinger / Signaller qualification and an Instructional Techniques qualification. Instructors will also need to have attended the course as an Examiner before being taken on as an Instructor. ALLMI can assist in arranging Instructional Techniques courses and Slinger / Signaller courses, so if Instructor status is of interest then please contact us.
Should you have any queries relating to the Thorough Examination and Load Test Training, then please contact the ALLMI office.
