The ALLMI Technical Standards Committee is a major driving force for UK legislation and standards relating to Lorry Loaders. The ALLMI Code of Practice, first published in 1981 and reissued in 1993, was written at the request of the Health and Safety Executive and is generally regarded as the Bible for the industry (Click here for the ALLMI Code of Practice). The Committee was heavily involved with the British Standards Institute for the preparation of BS7121 Part 4 (Safe Use of Cranes Lorry Loaders). The Committee continues to have representatives on British and European Standards Bodies relating to lorry loaders. The Technical Standards Committee has also published a set of Guidance Notes for the Lorry Loader industry, which are available to download free of charge Click here for ALLMI Guidance Notes
